According to European commission everyone has the right to quality and inclusive education, training and lifelong learning that develop key competences and basic skills which are needed by all personal fulfilment and development, employability, social inclusion and active citizenship. 


​The UNESCO document on education in the 21st century titled: Learning: The Treasure Within, identified four pillars of education — Learning to Know, Learning to Do, Learning to Be, Learning to Live Together. In addition, Agenda 2030 commits signatories to “inter-cultural understanding, tolerance, mutual respect and an ethic of global citizenship and shared responsibility.”
